I can’t remember when I first spotted black and white buffalo check burlap at Hobby Lobby. But I was immediately curious what it would look like as a wreath. So this year I finally decided I would try out black and white buffalo check burlap on a Christmas wreath. I made this wreath the same way I made the fall burlap and the red burlap Christmas wreath. But the black and white colors did make an interesting wreath.
Today’s black and white Christmas wreath tutorial is part of a blog hop with several of other blogger friends. You can check out their Christmas decorating ideas at the end of this post.

What do you need to make a black and white buffalo check wreath?
- Burlap Ribbon- 2-3 rolls
- 14″ Wire Wreath Frame
- Floral Wire
- Scissors
- Christmas embellishments (Optional)
How do you make a black and white buffalo check wreath?
Step 1: Attach your burlap to the wreath form with floral wire.
Taking the end of your burlap ribbon, fold it into quarters and attach to the wire wreath form.
Step 2: Loop the burlap through the wire wreath form
Starting with the innermost ring. Push the burlap through the wire wreath. Making a bubble loop with the burlap like below. Loop through each ring of the wire wreath form.
When you have a loop through each row. Take the burlap ribbon and twist it behind the wreath.
Then come back up through the innermost ring and start your loops again. Repeat the loops and twist behind the wreath until you come to the end of the roll of ribbon.
Step 3: Secure the end of the ribbon to the wire wreath form
When you reach the end of your burlap ribbon you will need to again fold your burlap in quarters. Then fasten it to the wire from with the floral wire. You will tuck it behind your wreath so it is not noticeable. Then finish the wreath by repeating Steps 1- 3 until the entire wreath form is covered.
Step 4 (Optional): Embellish your wreath with Christmas charm
Using your floral wire make bunches of Christmas greens to attach to your wreath. You may also want to find a unique ribbon to hang your wreath. I tried it with and without a ribbon.
Here’s a picture of the black and white buffalo check wreath on my front door. I like how the red colored ribbon pops on the black and white background.
I am not sure that I will keep this wreath on my front door this year. But I finally have satisfied my curiosity and know what a black and white buffalo check Christmas wreath looks like!
