DIY Valentine’s Day gnomes are a fun way to say Happy Valentine’s Day to loved ones, co-workers or friends. The best part? You can make DIY Valentine’s Day Gnomes just by digging through your mismatched sock drawer. These little “Gnomeos” will quickly romance your heart, especially when you see how easy they are to make.
This week I finally have most of my Christmas decorations put away, and started some projects I wanted to get to for the new year. If you were here with us in Christmas you would have remember the DIY Sock Gnomes we made.
Well since I still had plenty of supplies left over I decided to make some DIY Valentine’s Gnomes as well. You can find a full tutorial here for how to make these gnomes with a free pattern.
These little guys are so simple to make and I thought it was really cute to think of them as little “Gnomeos.” (Like Romeo but with a beard of white hair). Has anyone else been smitten by these these gnomes this year? But now, of course, I feel like I have to make some Juliet- type gnomes to match.
This time I made the gnomes’ hats with colors for Valentine’s Day. I had some minky fabric from some baby blankets I made. The fabric was two different colors of pink. But you could also use old clothing or sweaters to make the hats, if you happen to have pinks or reds.
Little hearts with felt added to their hats, making them feel even more like DIY Valentine gnomes.
Otherwise I just followed the same steps to make these gnomes as I did the ones for Christmas. With a slight exception I made to the hat pattern on these gnomes. I added about an inch and a half on all sides of the cone. This gave me some more fabric to work with when placing it on my gnome’s head.
I placed these Valentines gnomes in a forest of pink trees. Because I thought where else would gnomes Valentines gnomes live but in a pink bottle brush forest, with hearts all around.
