Today I am going to show you how to make a mini pine cone wreath. When my daughters and I go for walks we are always finding mini pine cones on the ground. And so when I saw some small 8″ wire wreath forms at the Dollar Tree I already knew the craft I had in mind….Mini Pine Cone Wreaths!
Mini pine cone wreaths were appealing to me because unlike large pine cones, little mini pine cones stay in place once they are glued. They are smaller so they aren’t quite as cumbersome when hanging and I don’t feel like the pine cones will fall off as easily. If you have never prepared pine cones for crafts before you can learn how to prepare pine cone for crafts here.
The other advantage of mini pine cone wreaths is the time to make them is significantly shorter. Large pine cone wreaths can take hours of time to make them fit together just right but these mini pine cones can be assembled in 30 minutes or less.
So without keeping you waiting any more let’s start making Mini Pine Cone Wreaths.

Here’s a full step by step video on how to make mini pine cone wreaths:
Step 1: Cover your wire wreath form with fabric
I like to cover my wire wreath form with fabric before adding any mini pine cones to my wreath. Adding the fabric on top of the wire wreath just gives you more surface area when you start attaching your pine cones.
Just cut out the shape of your mini wreath form and hot glue it onto the wire wreath form, covering the wire wreath with felt.
Tip: I find it easies to lay the wire wreath flat side up and hot glue it in place this way.
Step 2: Start attaching the mini pine cones to the wreath with hot glue
Starting with the innermost area on your wreath. Attach mini pine cones around the wire wreath form. I try to balane the pine cones from one side of the wreath to the other. Fill in the wire wreath form from the center to the outside with mini pine cones. Just hot glue them in place to the wreath or to each other.
Step 3: Fill in any open spaces with mini pine cones on your wreath
Now that you have filled your wreath with pine cones. Look back at the wreath. Do you see any open spaces? Spaces that seem heavier than others? Go back through and touch up your wreath until you get a nice balance of weight across the wire wreath form.
Step 4: Attach a ribbon to hang your mini pine cone wreath
Now that your pine cone wreath is complete, attach a ribbon to hang your wreath. I thought lace looked nice with this wreath so I used that to hang my mini pine cone wreath.
And that’s it! Now you have a BEAUTIUFL MINI PINE CONE WREATH! And wasn’t that an easy way to make a mini pine cone wreath?
I love how inexpensive these wreaths are and yet they look very high end. Please let me know if you have any questions about the wreath. Otherwise thanks for reading and check out this other easy 30 minute pine cone wreath that you can also make from Dollar Tree supplies!
