- Wooden Cross
- Wire and wooden beads
Simply hot glue the fabric onto the tin can. Then add lace and the wooden cross to the center of the cross. Poke a hole through one of the sides of the can and attach a wire handle. - Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
- bronze spray paint
- mini grapevine wreath (optional)
This next tin can craft is made by using old hymn book pages. I love the words of these hymns! They are powerful and share the message of Jesus. So I wanted to find a way to display them at Easter.
You can start this Easter craft by spraying painting your tin can. I used a bronze color spray paint on mine. To make these cute Easter planters for your Easter table just mod podge the hymn pages on your can.
You can use this can as a small Easter basket or as a Easter planter for your table.
3. Crushed Tin Can Easter Basket
Here’s the supplies needed for this tin can craft:
- 28 oz tin can
- Scrapbook paper, napkin or tissue paper

- Scissors
- White paint
- Mod podge and foam brush
- “He is Risen” letters
- Awl or something to poke a hole in your can
- Macrame Cording 4mm
- Wooden beads (optional)
This Easter craft uses a larger tin can 28 oz or bigger. Start by opening both ends of your tin can. Then smash down one of the ends with your hands, a mallet or other tool. Hammer down the end completely so you can use the can as a Easter basket or planter.
Paint your can white. Then mod podge paper on the can. Wait for the paper to dry and then hot glue lace and the “He is Risen” letters on top of your can.
I love these crushed tin cans and I love how the words stand out on the lace and paper.
4. Chunky Yarn Easter Basket Craft
Supplies Needed for a Chunky Yarn Easter basket:
- 28 oz tin can
- chuny yarn (I love this pink color)
- Hot Glue and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Awl for poking holes in your can
I love these DIY Easter Baskets!
Probably because I cannot get enough of projects that use chunky yarn. Seriously though isn’t it so lovely!
To make this chunky yarn Easter basket you won’t need any knitting skills, just a hot glue gun and a little bit of patience!
Start by attaching your chunky yarn to your tin can with hot glue. Then continue to wind your chunky yarn around your can, hot gluing it on as you go. When you come to the bottom of the can hot glue the chunky yarn in a spiral shape. Tuck the end of the yarn into the spiral shape.
These Easter baskets are so cute! And perfect to fill with treats on Easter morning.
5. Buffalo Check Easter Basket
Here’s the supplies needed for the Buffalo Check Inspired Easter Basket:
- Tin Can
- Pink and white paint
- Washi or painter’s tape
- Hot glue gun and gluesticks
- Nautical Rope
If you like buffalo check then this Easter craft idea is just for YOU! To make this can you are going to use washi tape and paint to create buffalo check.
The video shows you exactly how to make the buffalo check lines. Start by painting your can white. Then you will create three different shades of pink paint by adding different amounts of white paint.
Using your washi tape and paint you will make different layers for the buffalo check.
Line your washi tape vertically on your can, leaving the width of your tape in between your rows. Paint over the tape. Remove the tape, then repeat this step but place your tape horizontally on your can this time. Paint over the tape with your brush. Do not remove the tape this time but place another set of rows of washi tape vertically on your can. Wait for the paint to dry and remove all of the tape.
Now you will have buffalo check on your Easter basket. You may need to touch up spots with your paint brush. Lastly feed nautical rope on the sides of your can for a handle.

Then fold the remaining two sides of your tissue paper and bunch the paper up like ears. Use a rubber band or piece of twine to pinch the paper together in the shape of ears.
Now using your sharpie draw a face on your bunny. You can also hot glue a cotton ball or felt ball on the back of your bunny for a tail. And that’s it! You can also do this same technique with cloth.
