Here’s how to make 5 of the Best Paper Mache Cone Ideas for Christmas:
1. Wooden Bead Paper Mache Christmas Tree:
Set your paper mache cone on your table. Then take your hot glue gun and glue a row of beads on the bottom of your paper mache cone. This will be the first row of your Christmas tree.
Just continue hot gluing beads in rows on your paper mache cone. Vary the position of the beads. So when you start your second row put the first bead in between two beads below it.
Continue gluing beads on your tree until you get to the top of your paper mache cone.
And that’s all there is to it! Now you have a very cute little wooden bead Christmas tree. You can also choose to embellish the tree or leave it as is.
2. Pine Cone Paper Mache Christmas Tree
Just like you made your wooden bead tree you can make a cute little pine cone paper mache tree. Start on the bottom row again and just hot glue pine cones around the cone.
Move onto the next row and glue the pine cone in between 2 pine cones in the row beneath. Continue gluing pine cones on until you get all the way to the top of your tree!
And that’s it! Pretty simple and pretty cute!
3. Mini Yarn paper Mache Christmas Tree
On day 5 we made larger paper mache trees with chunky yarn. Then on Day 13 we made yarn trees on a stick. Now today we are going to make paper mache trees on a smaller scale.
Similar to the larger paper mache trees start by hot gluing your yarn onto your paper mache cone. Then wind the yarn along the paper mache cone. Once the paper mache cone is completely covered cut off the yarn. Tuck the yarn in underneath one of the other rows of yarn.
Then embellish your tree. I used some white buttons on my little paper mache tree. You could also use wooden balls or jingle bells. If you want to use this little paper mache tree as an ornament, tie a piece of twine on the top of the tree. You can add a small wooden star to the top of the tree to finish it off.
And that’s it!
4. Gnome Paper Mache Cone
Did you know you can make a gnome out of a paper mache cone? You probably aren’t too surprised, since we have made gnomes out of socks, wood scraps, tin cans, mason jars and Dollar Tree hearts. Well today we are going to use these little paper mache cones.
To start cover the top of your paper mache cone with fabric. I have a free pattern for a small gnome hat if that is helpful to you. Hot glue the fabric around the paper mache cone.
Then take your faux fur. Cut out a small triangle of faux fur and attach it to the bottom of the cone. Then hot glue the wooden nose in the center of your beard. The nose should be right underneath the hat (touching your hat).
Hot glue on any embellishments you want to add to your gnome. You can also cover the bottom of your gnome with felt if you want it to look more finished. Just cut out a circle of felt that is the same size as the bottom of your paper mache cone.
And that’s it! Easy Peasy gnomes!
5. Angel Paper Mache Cone Craft
To make an angel out of your paper mache cone. Start by cutting off the tip of your paper mache cone. This will be where the felt ball rest on your angel.
Take white or cream fabric and cover your paper mache cone. Hot glue it into place. Take your felt ball and hot glue it on to the top of your paper mache cone. This will be your angels head.
Take your raffia and make wings. I folded some raffia in half and then I made two loops for wings. Hot glue the raffia on the back side of your angel.
Take lace or trim and glue it on the bottom of your cone. Take buttons or ribbon and embellish your angel. You can add a small gold pipe cleaner on your angel’s head for a halo.
And that’s it a really cute paper mache craft for Christmas!
