Today for Day 7 of our Jesse Tree Craft along let’s make DIY Paper Bag Luminaries. This simple paper bag craft makes a big impact in your home for Christmas, lighting up the night. These little paper bag luminairies are a reminder that Jesus is the light of the world.

Today is day 7 of our Jesse Tree craft along to Christmas and we will be making these bright glowing paper bag luminairies. Today’s story was on Moses and the burning bush so these little luminairies remind us of the bush that was burning but not consumed.

“There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.” – Exodus 3:2

These little paper bag luminairies are so easy to make but brighten up the whole room at night. So let’s get started!

Here’s the supplies need to make paper bag luminairies:

  • Small paper bags
  • Hole punch- we used a star punch
  • LED Tea lights

Here’s how to make a paper bag luminairies:

Step 1: Open paper bag and puch star holes

Take your hole punch and punch little stars around the bags. We used a star punch and a mini hole punch for little stars but you can use a regular hole punch as well.

Step 2: Put your tea lights in the bag

Then turn on your LED tea lights. We found ours at the Dollar Tree. Place the tea light in the center of the bag and turn it on.

And that’s it! Light your little paper luminairies!

And that’s it! Now you have these beautiful little lights for your Christmas celebration. This would actually be a fun craft to do on Christmas Eve and to have your little luminairies all over the house when celebrating Christmas!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

We hope you have a wonderful Sunday! If you missed any of the other days you can catch them down below. Please let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of these yet or if you have ones that you would like to try soon!
